Network - 2 Disc Special Edition

Faye Dunaway, William Holden, Peter Finch and Robert Duvall star in this searing portrait of television exploitation. When veteran news anchor Howard Beale (Peter Finch) is fired, he suffers a severe on-air breakdown. But his rants during this breakdown only increase his show's audience ratings. He is subsequently rehired and reinvented as the 'mad prophet of the airwaves.' But when the 'prophet' ceases to receive high ratings and is no longer profitable, something has to be done about Beale, of course, on camera and before a live studio audience. Also starring Wesley Addy, Ned Beatty and Arthur Burghardt. Written by Paddy Chayefsky.
