On the Bridge

Frank Perry, director of "David and Lisa" and "Diary of a Mad Housewife" documents his lengthy battle with prostate cancer. His struggle goes from the remission to the recurrence of the cancer. He punctuates his film with humor. He also seeks alternative therapies and methods, including attending a speech by the Dali Lama. (Frank Perry died of cancer in August, 1995 after the film was finished.
